Role: Senior Engineer (Disaster Recovery Automation)

Location: Dubai, Onsite

Job type: 4 months extendable to a long term

Job Description

Main Duties:

1. Ensure that the following duties are performed duly with quality:
2. Work with business units and understand business flow of each application and their interdependencies and develop a DR plan for all business applications.
3. Develop recovery priorities, timelines, and strategies for proper sequence of recovery components.
4. Develop and understand all testing necessary for a successful DR execution.
5. Configure/update infra components, objects and respective business functions, groups, and various replication etc.
6. Configure monitoring, alerts, and reports as per RPO/RTO/SLA defined by business.
7. Configure failover/failback and switch over workflows for applications and updating existing workflows and verifying their functionality with the runbooks.
8. Coordinate with business team and ensure runbooks are updated and reflect the current infrastructure.
9. Lead planned DR Drill exercises and crisis management and provide RPA report of the drills to BCM team and external auditors.
10. Co-ordinate and manage licenses for infra components with vendor and reclaim licenses for decommissioned and infra components not in use.
11. On board critical applications in the CP tool.

General:

1. Ensure that the ITSM/Service Now tool is used with quality regarding the incidents and service requests.
2. Ensure that all systems are secured and configured as per defined standards and policies.
3. Able to troubleshoot execution issues.
4. Verify connectivity to all infra components and coordinate with application/infra teams to ensure connectivity and synchronization among sites.
5. Conduct regular meetings with application owners and review workflows with the team.
6. Review all alerts in the CP tool and notify applications alerts with respective team.
7. Ensure SLA/RPO and RTO of all infra components are met.
8. Participate in Business continuity meetings and assist application teams in following best practices.
9. Provide periodic status reports of infra components to reflect the current conditions and support for the recovery objectives set by the organization.

Skills and Competencies

1. Expertise in Disaster recovery management in Perpetuity continuity patrol.
2. Good knowledge of Change Management frameworks such as ITIL.
3. Good knowledge of network infrastructure.
4. Good knowledge on storage replication.
5. Good knowledge on Database.
6. Good leadership skills including people management, selection, and development skills.
7. Very good analytical, planning, forecasting, execution and problem-solving skills.
8. Flexible and able to work under pressure.
9. Respect and promote trust and confidentiality.
