Your new role, what's involved
- Provide expert leadership in overseeing the design, construction, and commissioning of structural elements on the construction site.
- Ensure that structural engineering aspects align with project specifications, design drawings, and relevant codes and standards.
- Initiate and respond to structural-related contract correspondence with the Client and Contractors.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations related to structural engineering are met.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of structural installations to verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain a robust structural inspection and testing procedure.
- Lead and contribute to project meetings, including kick-off, progress, and coordination meetings, addressing structural engineering concerns and providing technical insights.
- Review and enforce the contractor's HSE plan, emphasizing structural safety protocols and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure that all structural installations adhere to the highest safety standards. Implement and adhere to the project's Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for structural installations.
- Conduct regular audits to verify the quality and reliability of structural work.
- Monitor and assess the progress of structural works during construction, collaborating with project teams to ensure adherence to timelines and milestones.
- Liaise with structural service authorities and other relevant bodies to facilitate necessary approvals and ensure compliance with structural regulations.
- Certify interim and final payments related to structural works, collaborating with the project team and Quantity Surveyor.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to structural installations.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of structural works for project management and stakeholders.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
- 15 years of experience in leading structural engineering teams on construction sites.
- In-depth knowledge of structural codes, standards, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
