Job Description
Carrying out detail designing of instrument and Electrical (MCC) control systems, associated, and not limited to design documents (D&ID, I/O List, instrumentation and control wiring diagram, Instrument Data Sheets, Material Data Sheets, SLD, Load List, MCC design).
Review of Instrument and control equipment specifications, vendor drawings and equipment including design calculations.
Ensure all Electrical and Instrumentation documentation is fully coordinated with mechanical discipline before they are formally submitted to client.
Act as a multidiscipline coordinator between electrical and instrumentation and mechanical team.
Development and maintenance of Instrumentation and control design/engineering documents.
Detail design and checks of hook up drawings, UCP, panel drawings, functional design specifications, control philosophies, I/O list, ducting and instrumentation diagrams, instrument list, HMI screens, control systems.
Participation in design reviews, HAZOP, and other safety studies and contribute to the design to ensure design complies with all HSE standards.
Production of hook up drawings, system architecture drawing and review and approval of vendor system packages.
Review or provide support to multi-discipline reviews of Vendor engineering work to provide technical assurance, confirm adequacy of design and ensure compliance with Contract requirements.
Provide technical support for equipment selection and design as required.
Ensure proper and accurate documentation is provided and maintained through life cycle of the project.
Carry out operability, maintainability and constructability reviews and assess requirement design.
Coordinate design and liaise with client on matters relating to the design of control and communication systems, general arrangement drawing, data sheet and control and instrumentation equipment/systems.
Participate in instrumentation and control co-ordination meetings to resolve technical matters with client and internal multi-discipline engineering teams.
Coordinate instrumentation and control works associated with 3D Modelling and resolve interface issues with other disciplines. Smart plant (SPI/SPEL/SPPID) knowledge to coordinate with engineers to prepare required documentation required.
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and scope of works.
Project management skill for planning to meet the delivery deadlines.
Attending technical review meetings internal and external meetings.
Any other tasks that may be requested by the line manager from time to time.
Desired Candidate Profile
10+ years of experience.
Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as NEC and IEC.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
