Senior Electrical Engineer - GIS ITC Witness

The DEWA approved GIS witness Engineer shall be reporting to the Project Manager and shall be conversant with:

• EHV Substations of voltage level 220/132 kV.
• Testing and Commissioning of complete Gas insulated switchgear of various makes like Siemens, ALSTOM, Hitachi / ABB, Toshiba, JAEP & any other makes.
• Testing and commissioning of the Current transformer and Voltage transformers.
• Schemes and Component checking pertaining to 220/132kV GIS system.
• Functional checks.
• Relevant international standards on testing and commissioning activities.
• New technologies to identify potential applications.
• Witness engineers must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in having developed a recognized career path.
• Extensive experience in testing and commissioning.
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English with good technical skills applied to producing reports and literate in the use of MS Office, Primavera applications.
• Must have experience of working within an ISO quality environment.
• Good knowledge of applicable design standards and codes gained from a European power design environment is essential, (i.e., IEC, IEEE, ISO and BS)
• Must be able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility both as an individual and as a strong team player, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering is Mandatory.
