Carry out duties assigned by superior for day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
Ensure that all Engineers/Designers under supervision work to project procedures, specifications and standards, good engineering practices and techniques, and any project-specific requirements.
Prepare project deliverables list for electrical, plan electrical section deliverables as per overall project schedule/milestones, indicate required man-power and keep track records on progress of deliverables.
Identify, select and design electrical systems/equipment for projects, as required.
Undertake design verification and calculations, as required.
Prepare and review engineering studies, installation standards, design drawings and documents.
Write technical specifications for shipboard electrical, Telecom & Navigation equipment and systems.
Liaise with Clients and Classification Societies to assure that all technical/engineering requirements are met.
Execute duties of Project Engineer if required.
Attend vessel inspections to define the scope of work required for vessel modifications, repairs and conversions.
Identify changes in project specifications or deliverables, variations to contractual scope, schedule impact due to client’s engineering delays, and rising change orders.
Participate in design reviews, inter-discipline checks, 3D model reviews and implement necessary follow-up actions timely.
Guide the electrical team to produce 3D model and electrical deliverables.
Plan and maintain manpower and other resources required for smooth operation of the work assigned.
Estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
Follow up with trades and carry out inspections during vessel construction as necessary.
Conduct shipyard audits, risk assessments and training as required.
Review third party technical documents & drawings and clarify technical issues.
Resolve Classification society comments and incorporate client’s comments/remarks cost-effectively.
Technical Competencies
Broad technical knowledge of designing electrical, control, and communication systems in basic, detail, and production stages for systems for marine/offshore platforms.
Very good technical knowledge of installation and commissioning of electrical, control, and communication systems.
Very good background with resolution of technical issues during project planning and execution phases.

Education - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience - Minimum 10 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore/Oil & Gas industry in design and production engineering office. Experience in power generation, distribution systems & safety. Experience in Telecom & Navigation systems. Working experience in shipyard, major Production/Construction sites and heavy industrial segments.
