Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

Reports to the Project Lead/Discipline Manager on site. Oversees reviews & manages and monitors implementation of the construction documents on site. The Senior Electrical Engineer will oversee the design development and implementation of electrical systems for construction projects. This role involves supervising the installation and maintenance of electrical systems ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and inspectors.

Job Duties

• Project Management: Lead electrical engineering projects from inception to completion including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Design and Development: Review detailed electrical designs, schematics, and specifications for construction projects.
• Supervision: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure they meet project requirements and safety standards.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, clients, and contractors.
• Documentation: Prepare and review technical drawings, reports, and documentation.
• Client Interaction: Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and develop junior electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with the company’s Health Safety & Environment (HSE) policies.

Specific Skills Required

• Site experience in basic design requirements, estimation, installation, and all site activities related to all Electrical works for construction of large-scale building projects.
• Familiar with all the Electrical Engineering methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools, and manpower allocations related to Electrical works for building projects.
• Well versed in interpreting and executing Electrical related drawings.
• Knowledge of the related authorities' requirements.
• High-rise residential and commercial buildings experience required with a strong background in startup execution and handover of major projects.

Person Specification (Behavioral Attributes)

• Good team player with high energy levels. Able to supervise a team of engineers and inspectors efficiently and competently.

Qualifications :

Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. An advanced postgraduate degree and membership of a recognized institution (i.e., PE/Peng, CEng, etc.) would be preferred. LEED GA or AP certifications would be a plus for MEP discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years demonstrable experience in the design and all aspects of supervision and project administration of the electrical works related to large-scale projects within the Middle East in the consulting industry.
