The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Designer (SPI / 3D) with a proven track record in creating detailed electrical design drawings and 3D models using Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) and 3D CAD software to support engineering projects for a high-profile client.

The key objectives for this role are:

1. Creating accurate and detailed electrical design drawings and 3D models using SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) and 3D CAD software.
2. Collaborating with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and specifications.
3. Ensuring all electrical designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
4. Maintaining comprehensive and precise design documentation, including design specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
5. Conducting thorough reviews and quality checks of design work to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
6. Incorporating innovative design solutions and staying current with advancements in electrical design tools and techniques.
7. Addressing and resolving design-related issues and challenges during the project lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

1. 3D Software skills like SPI, 3D software
2. Execute design and draughting activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study and Detailed Design)
3. Prepare sketches, Electrical drawings, and designs from agreed work scopes with minimum input from engineering personnel
4. Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract
5. Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
6. Carry out site surveys
7. Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
8. Maintain required technical quality of work
9. Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to discipline work scope
10. Maintain filing system
11. Encourage and provide lateral learning within project
12. Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required
13. Assist Lead / Senior Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties

Expected:

1. Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum of 15+ years of experience
2. Sound knowledge of manual and CAD draughting techniques
3. Software skills like AUTOCAD, MICROSTATION, etc is mandatory
4. 3D Software skills like SPI, 3D is mandatory
5. Aware of and able to use codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation as applicable to draughting function
6. Aware of and able to use COMPANY and CLIENT standards
7. Able to create base design drawings / models from agreed work scope with minimal guidance
8. Computer literate (database / spreadsheets)
9. Ability to accept delegated responsibility for designated tasks
10. Experience in acting as a focal point / Self checking / checking of others work
