SENIOR DESIGNER - STRUCTURAL ( Basic Design )

Responsibilities

1. Prepare engineering drawings, details, sections, charts, and similar documents from rough sketches and specifications as directed by structural and/or outfitting engineers.
2. Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by structural and/or outfitting engineers.
3. Prepare detailed production design including 3D models.
4. Produce production fabrication and installation drawings.
5. Make simple professional computations using tables, charts, etc.
6. Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
7. Prepare bill of materials and weight calculations.
8. Inspect on-board vessels or assemblies for preparation, verification, or improvement.
9. Be competent in both manual drawing skills and computer-based applications, such as automated computer-assisted drafting (CAD).
10. Have thorough knowledge in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional techniques.
11. Possess conceptualization skills to visualize finished drawings and assigned projects.
12. Ability to generate complete discipline drawings with Engineer's supervision.
13. Knowledge of geometry and architectural terminology is needed.
14. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks within assigned projects and meet required deadlines.
15. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental/project objectives.
16. Trained and knowledgeable in relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.

Education

Engineering Draughtsman Diploma / Diploma in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.

Training

Proficient with software such as AutoCAD 2013 or later, Cadmatic Hull and outfitting, Ship Constructor 2017.

Experience in producing engineering drawings for ships and offshore structures.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in shipyard, offshore/Oil & Gas industry in design office.

Experience in producing engineering design and production drawings for Ships and Offshore structures.
