SENIOR DESIGNER - ELECTRICAL

Responsibilities:

1. Carry out duties assigned by superior for day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
2. Prepare project deliverables for electrical engineering, ensuring they are mistake-free and in line with project standards, yard electrical, and drafting standards.
3. Prepare design drawings following Class rules and guidance from the responsible engineer.
4. Identify, select, and design electrical systems/equipment for projects as required.
5. Prepare detailed production design and develop 3D models.
6. Produce production fabrication and installation drawings.
7. Prepare Bill of Materials, material top-up requirements, and weight calculations.
8. Identify changes in client-provided drawings and documents, and prepare mark-ups for Technical Queries and variation orders as required.
9. Carry out intermediate checks to ensure that work in progress is mistake-free and in line with project requirements.
10. Maintain records of issued drawings or deliverables and provide inputs related to progress reports as per instruction by superiors.
11. Identify changes in client-provided 3D models, drawings, documents, or deliverables and update the responsible engineer.
12. Participate in inter-discipline checks, 3D model reviews, and implement necessary follow-up actions timely.
13. Guide and supervise the electrical drafting team to produce clash-free 3D models and electrical deliverables.
14. Inspect on-board vessels/rigs or assemblies for preparation, verification, or improvements.
15. Review third-party technical documents and drawings as required.
16. Maintain a strong knowledge of relevant Electrical Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
17. Possess technical knowledge of installation requirements of electrical, control, and communication components & systems in basic, detailed, and production stages for marine/offshore platforms.
18. Have technical knowledge of testing and commissioning of electrical, control, and communication equipment.
19. Demonstrate a background in identifying technical issues during planning and execution phases of 3D modeling activities for the project.
20. Show the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
21. Organize, prioritize, and successfully execute tasks in accordance with business objectives.

Education:

Engineering Draughtsman Diploma / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Training:

Proficient with software such as Cadmatic 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, PDF, and Microsoft Office packages.

Experience:

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in shipyard, offshore/Oil & Gas industry in design office. Experience in power generation, distribution systems, and safety.
