Job description

The Senior Design Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the design phases of projects, ensuring alignment with project vision and design concepts. The role involves leading the production of design drawings, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. The Senior Design Coordinator acts as the liaison between the developer and architectural firms throughout the design and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all design phases, from concept design to schematic design and IFC drawings.
  2. Lead the production of high-quality design deliverables that align with the project vision.
  3. Assist the project team in developing and refining design concepts.
  4. Ensure design consistency and integration through all project phases.

Coordination and Communication:

  1. Act as the primary liaison between the developer “Palace Group” and architectural firms.
  2. Coordinate work in conjunction with engineers and government organizations to oversee the design approval from all concerned authorities.
  3. Participate in internal design meetings and client presentations.
  4. Develop visually compelling presentation materials for client meetings.

Technical Documentation and Compliance:

  1. Create sketches and drawings as necessary to communicate design intent.
  2. Develop and assemble permit sets, bid sets, and construction document sets in coordination with the Tender Department.
  3. Ensure that all design elements comply with local regulations and industry standards.
  4. Assist the Project Manager in carrying out the project vision throughout the design development phases.
  5. Provide guidance and recommendations on design-related matters to support project objectives.
  6. Monitor and review design progress to ensure timely delivery.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a design or consultant role.
  3. Experience in coordinating with engineers, contractors, and government entities for design approvals from all concerned authorities.
  4. Experience in creating sketches, drawings, and presentation materials to effectively communicate design intent.
  5. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite.
  6. Strong knowledge of local regulations and ability to ensure project compliance.
  7. Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  8. High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  9. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in design-related tasks.
  10. Strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
