Job Description

1. Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases supporting Ellucian Banner ERP and other applications databases MySQL.
2. Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement solutions for optimization.
3. Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations as required.

Ellucian Banner ERP Support:

4. Collaborate with functional and technical teams to support Ellucian Banner ERP operations.
5. Optimize Banner ERP database schemas, configurations, and queries for efficiency.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Banner ERP database integrations, MYSQL & MS SQL.
7. Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks at the database and application levels.
8. Implement indexing, partitioning, and other performance-enhancing techniques.
9. Ensure database security by managing roles, permissions, and data access controls.
10. Maintain compliance with relevant data protection regulations and institutional policies.
11. Develop and manage robust backup and disaster recovery plans for database systems.
12. Conduct regular testing of recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
13. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DBAs and IT team members.
14. Work with vendors and third-party service providers to support ERP database requirements.
15. Document system configurations, processes, and best practices.
16. Experience with Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.
17. Proficiency in PL/SQL scripting and query optimization.
18. Experience with cloud-hosted Banner ERP solutions or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Desired Candidate Profile

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

General Conditions:

• Minimum of 5–10 years of experience as a DBA, including 3+ years working with Ellucian Banner ERP.
• Expertise in Oracle database administration (version 19c or higher preferred).
• Strong understanding of Ellucian Banner architecture and associated tools and applications like Argos, BDMS, and workflow.
• Familiarity with data integration tools and APIs.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong communication in Arabic and English and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of other ERP systems or higher education IT environments.
