Senior Data Engineer- SAP HANA

Senior Data Engineer Job Description:

Our client, a global IT consulting firm, is looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer to be based on one of their client sites in Dubai. The preferred candidate should lead the design, deployment, and management of the SAP HANA FSDP platform to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement best practices for the architecture, configuration, and maintenance of the SAP HANA FSDP environment.
2. Ensure the platform is up-to-date with the latest patches and upgrades.
3. Monitor platform performance and perform tuning to optimize efficiency and throughput.
4. Set up and manage multiple environments (development, QA, production). Implement environment cloning, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
5. Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions to ensure secure and appropriate access. Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and maintain user access logs.
6. Ensure platform security by configuring and monitoring security settings. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities.
7. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
8. Perform regular health checks of the Informatica platform and address any anomalies.
9. Utilize monitoring tools to track system performance and identify potential issues.
10. Implement and manage regular backup procedures to ensure data protection.
11. Provide day-to-day support for Informatica environments, addressing user queries and issues.
12. Optimize views, database interactions, and platform configurations for better performance.
13. Analyze system usage trends and plan for future capacity needs.
14. Implement scaling strategies to accommodate growing data volumes and user demands.
15. Conduct proactive maintenance activities to prevent potential issues.
16. Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide technical insights.
17. Provide training and support to end-users and junior team members on platform usage and best practices.
18. Develop and maintain user guides, FAQs, and training materials.
19. Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform configurations, procedures, and operations.
20. Generate and present regular reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
