Senior Credit Manager

Responsibilities:

Assist the Senior Credit Manager by reviewing Credit Proposals & Approving Credits within the incumbent's own Credit approval Authority.

Early detection of warning signals such as past dues and adverse market information to ensure timely corrective actions.

Maintain targeted turnaround time for credit approvals.

Manage a Credit Team to process credit proposals related to Business Banking Program Lending Products for credit decisions within the credit policy, regulatory, and compliance framework.

Proactively involve in developing comprehensive product policies and frameworks related to this segment, considering the highly volatile dynamic Business Banking landscape and within the boundaries of regulatory framework and risk appetite.

The role will liaise with the Business Product Team to create Business Banking digital lending products and automate the credit underwriting platforms.

Digitalize the portfolio monitoring and integrate analytics to forecast trends, identify risks, and improve decision-making.

Undertake various assigned projects to enhance portfolio reporting quality.

Assess the feasibility of automating and transforming credit processes that are time-intensive and to be phased out over time.

Regulate all Credit Approvals within the Credit Policy & Parameters.

Skills:

University Graduate.

Minimum 10 years experience in Business Banking Credit underwriting in a Bank/Financial institution and minimum 5 years as approver of Business Banking deals.

Understanding of Banking Systems and platforms.

High degree of analytical skills, ability to cut through excessive information to arrive at the key risk factors, keen eye for detail, and ability to analyze complex data.

Knowledge of Banking products, Banking systems, and processes.

Knowledge of regulations in different countries where the Mashreq operates.

Strong negotiating skills to deal with internal as well as external customers, regulators, and empaneled vendors.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
