Senior Credit Controller

• Work closely with the sales team to balance growth with prudent credit management.
• Prepare reports and analyses for management, including periodic review of the credit portfolio.
• Participate in negotiations with customers and ensure timely collection of outstanding amounts.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
• Assess and evaluate new and existing customer creditworthiness.
• Monitor customer accounts for timely payments and follow up on overdue invoices.
• Maintain accurate records of customer payments, outstanding balances, and credit limits.
• Negotiate payment terms and agreements with customers.
• Coordinate with the sales and finance teams to resolve billing and payment issues.
• Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.
• Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, overdue accounts, and collection activities.
• Initiate legal or collection actions when necessary to recover outstanding debts.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers while ensuring timely collections.
• Handle disputes and resolve queries regarding invoices and payments.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in credit control, preferably in the building materials industry or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of credit assessment processes and risk management.
• Experience in leading and developing teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle complex cases effectively.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
