Job Opportunity: Accounts & Tax Manager

TPF recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a friendly firm of chartered certified accountants based in Tonbridge, who are looking for an Accounts & Tax Manager to join their successful team.

Our client is a well-established multi-office firm which has been practising in Kent for many years, operating in a general practice capacity, providing their clients with a wide array of services across accounts, tax, audit, bookkeeping, VAT, Payroll, etc.

You will have exposure to a range of clients, including those within the property sector. There are excellent progression prospects on offer for candidates looking to become a director or partner due to the firm's succession planning, but equally, they can offer a less progressive position with a great work life balance.

Responsibilities:

1. Overseeing and controlling a portfolio of clients.
2. To be the first point of contact for clients.
3. Supervising staff and managing workflow through the office.
4. Responsible for developing junior staff.
5. Preparing and reviewing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
6. Preparing and reviewing tax computations and corporate and personal tax returns.
7. Reviewing of VAT return preparation.
8. Filing documents with HMRC and Companies House on client's behalf.
9. Dealing with correspondence for clients.
10. Providing business set-up services for clients including incorporations and HMRC registrations.
11. Providing value added business advice including ways to minimise tax liabilities and maximise profits.
12. Identifying opportunities to offer clients additional services.
13. Assisting the partners and directors with specialist assignments as they arise, including providing technical support as necessary.
14. Comply with internal policies and procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• ACA/ ACCA qualified or qualified by experience.
• 5+ years experience within an accountancy practice.
• General practice experience across accounts and tax.

Benefits:

• Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.
