Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Cost Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to play a critical role in maintaining the budgets of various projects under a multi-billion dollar programme.
What You'll Be Doing
Budget Maintenance: Monitor and maintain project budgets, ensuring that all financial activities align with project goals and constraints.
Monthly Cost Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports, incorporating data from supervision consultants and contractors. Ensure reports are accurate, comprehensive, and submitted in a timely manner.
Forecast Cashflows: Develop and prepare accurate forecast cashflows from construction programmes to support project financial planning and management.
Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget. Identify and address variances between actual and budgeted costs.
Budget Overrun Management: Identify potential budget overruns and liaise with clients to obtain budget uplift approvals when necessary.
Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze cost data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Use this data to inform decision-making and project planning.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide financial insights.
Financial Reporting: Provide detailed financial reports to senior management and other stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and project performance.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all financial activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP, MRICS) is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost engineering, preferably within the engineering or infrastructure sector.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost management software and tools and knowledge of Primavera P6. Advanced MS Excel skills.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong working relationships with colleagues.
