Senior Contracts Engineer

My client is a well-established oil and gas company that is looking for a Senior Contracts Engineer.

The main responsibility would be to perform all activities related to fulfilment of material and service requirements in line with the Company’s standard process for Contracts with the support from the Contracts Engineer. Support the team to develop the best contracting strategy that maximizes the spend value and protects the Company’s assets and interests.

Main responsibilities:

1. Conduct contracting business in compliance with Company contracts & procurement guidelines and procedures.
2. Supervise the work of Contracts Engineer.
3. Work closely with user departments to review Scope of Work and advise them on improvements.
4. Develop contracting strategies to meet the client requirements.
5. Perform all contracts related processes viz. pre-qualification, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiations, drafting of contracts, contract administration & close-out.
6. Maintain an updated database of contractors and suppliers for effective contracting and procurement.
7. Consider technical aspects when developing contracting strategies and evaluating proposals.
8. Prepare Invitation to tenders and manage the tendering process and opening of bids.
9. Prepare award recommendation and obtain internal approval for contracts and procurement.
10. Initiate and manage changes, extensions, and/or amendments to the Contract and obtain necessary approvals.
11. Effectively communicate with internal customers and contractors and maintain bid and contract database with periodic reports.
12. Carry out Contractor Performance Evaluation.
13. Evaluate critically all claims raised by Contractors and advise on the admissibility of claims and assume lead role in dispute resolutions.
14. Assist Head of Supply Chain in reviewing processes, procedures.
15. Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

The right candidate MUST have a minimum of 10 years contracting experience, out of which at least 3 years in handling drilling/well services contracts in an upstream oil & gas company (mandatory requirement).
