Roles and Responsibilities
The Senior Content Editor leads the content strategy and style guidelines while overseeing the copy produced by the content editor. They collaborate with creatives, marketing, and key stakeholders across the business to concept and create engaging, consumer-centric content relevant to the target consumer. As a brand guardian, they will uphold and interpret the seasonal campaign direction through all marketing initiatives, ensuring the tone of voice for each brand is adhered to and that the delivery of rich content is on-brand, on-time, and as briefed.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities- Lead the Style Guide and Tone of Voice development across all retail brand portfolio.
- Develop a glossary input and translation repository enhancements.
- Oversee the delivery and implementation of our brand tone of voice across all communication platforms, from marketing activities (newsletters, social media, CRM, and other marketing operations), PR (press releases, event invitations) to homepage.
- Review and sub content and communications created by the content editor to ensure all content reaches the necessary high standards.
- Translate the vision of the brand, mood, and imagery for each campaign into written form.
- Work closely with the creative team to ensure a user-friendly and on-brand experience across all outputs.
- Lead the editorial calendar.
- Analyse industry best practices with knowledge of SEO.
- Collaborate on branded content proposals and execution with multiple stakeholders in the business.
- Brief and supervise content editor on all relevant content projects.
- Act as an ongoing creative brand guardian from a tone of voice perspective.
- Produce copy for actioned/ad-hoc projects as required by the business.
- Provide mentorship and guidance for content editors.
- Ensure the team adheres to brand tone of voices and guidelines.
Job RequirementsEducation/Certification and Continued EducationDegree in Foreign Languages, Marketing, Communication, or similar field.
Years of Experience6+ years of experience as a copywriter, content editor, and/or language specialist.
Knowledge and Skills- Fluency in English.
- Familiarity with UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, or Lebanese dialects (if required).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate.
- Experience in working in English and Arabic (if required) with an engaging, accurate, and adaptable writing style, with impeccable grammar.
- Strong editorial sensibility.
- Creatively minded, but commercially aware.
- Keen to learn about SEO and optimizing content.
- Experience with localization projects for e-commerce websites, preferably in luxury fashion retail.
- Ability to work quickly and to agreed daily targets and deadlines.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong proofreading and subbing background in a fashion e-commerce environment.
- Experience within luxury retail, with sound knowledge of luxury fashion, designers, brands, culture, and trends for MENA demographics.
- Competent using different content management systems (CMS).
- Able to showcase a good understanding of garment and accessory construction.
- Sound knowledge of national and international men’s and women’s fashion, designers, brands, and trends.
