EDUCATION
- Master's Degree in Engineering
- Master's Degree in Conservation/Structural Consolidation of Architectural Heritage
QUALIFICATIONS
- Conservation Engineer with a minimum 10 years experience.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the design of heritage structures, both masonry and reinforced concrete.
- At least 5 years of works supervision as Resident Engineer for both masonry and reinforced concrete structures.
- Experienced in structural and material repair and rehabilitation techniques.
- Experienced in structural health assessment procedures.
- Experienced in reinforced concrete treatment systems, chemical salt extraction, and cathodic protection.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; proficient in English reporting.
- Good knowledge of main software, such as Windows Office, AUTOCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
SOFT SKILLS
- Self-motivated, independent, proactive, and deeply passionate about heritage conservation.
- Flexible, hard worker, and able to work in stressful conditions.
- Good in time management, communication, and teamwork.
- Eager to work in international contexts, developing and emerging countries, with willingness to undertake short or long missions abroad.
- Possessing a driving license and available to drive in project countries when necessary.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Resident Engineer in Abu Dhabi:
- Supervise the conservation treatment of reinforced concrete structures.
- Guarantee the protection of the decorations and architectural finishes.
- Ensure adherence to the prescriptions of the Conservation Management.
- Assess the condition of selected bearing vertical walls, in doubt to be kept.
- Coordinate and lead the contractor's skilled and unskilled laborers.
- Support the Director of the Abu Dhabi Branch in management and liaison with the AD Department of Culture and Tourism.
WORK LANGUAGE
English, Italian, and Arabic is an asset.
