Position purpose:

The Senior Communications Manager & Business Partner is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans that support the company’s divisional business goals in the Middle East. Working within a Dynamic-Shared-Ownership (DSO) framework, this role serves as a communication liaison, aligning divisional messages with corporate communication strategies and enhancing the division's reputation and market presence. The role involves a blend of corporate communication responsibilities with a strong focus on business partnership, ensuring that communication initiatives are closely integrated with business objectives and contribute meaningfully to the division's success.

Major tasks, responsibilities and requirements of the position:

  1. Strategic Communications & Business Partnering:
    1. Work closely with the Cluster Communications Country Head to develop and drive communication and engagement strategies.
    2. Provide strategic communications advice and/or execute key activities to ensure a positive impact that supports company and business goals.
    3. Lead marketing communications with regard to PR media relations and advise on influencer management.
    4. Build relationships of trust by engaging with key media representatives, thought leaders, communication counterparts, and customers.
    5. Ensure consistency of messages and global one-voice-policy across divisions.
    6. Provide strategic counsel to division leadership teams.
    7. Position and train external spokespersons as thought leaders in line with the company's reputational strategy.
  2. Content & Channel Management:
    1. Drive content strategy and creation aligned with business objectives.
    2. Develop and oversee strategic multi-channel communications approach, adopting a Paid-Earned-Shared-Owned rationale, including external (i.e., Social Media) and internal audiences.
    3. Ensure message consistency across platforms.
    4. Leverage digital and social media channels effectively.
    5. Lead and support employee engagement initiatives.
  3. Issues & Crisis Communications:
    1. Handle and mitigate reputational crises in accordance with global guidelines and local sensitivities (issues communications).
    2. Protect Bayer brand and product brand and ensure crisis preparedness and steer as well as direct issues and crisis communications, including change communications, in close cooperation with corporate functions and business organization.
    3. Ensure communications procedures on issues and crises are known and respected.

  • Capability community members.
  • Regional marketing teams.

External:

  • Media representatives.
  • Healthcare professionals.
  • Industry associations.
  • Key opinion leaders.
  • Regulatory bodies.

Your Experience

Education:

  • Preferably a university degree or equivalent in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Fluency in the English language – one or more local languages beneficial.

Skills/experiences:

  • 5+ years communications experience, with 3+ years in life sciences industry.
  • Proven track record in strategic communications and business partnering.
  • Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellence in content development and storytelling.
  • Crisis communications experience.
  • Digital communications expertise.
  • Project management skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and international business acumen.
