Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Engineer with a process background to join our team for an upcoming Oil & Gas construction project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commissioning activities, project management, and a deep understanding of process systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage and execute commissioning plans, oversee multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure that all project phases are completed safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning and pre-commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures.
Coordinate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure alignment of commissioning activities with overall project goals and timelines.
Lead the mechanical completion and system turnover processes, ensuring systems and equipment meet project specifications and design parameters.
Supervise testing activities, including hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, functional testing, leak testing, and system flushing.
Manage the preparation and execution of pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) and ensure readiness for system start-up (RFSU).
Conduct risk assessments, prepare Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and ensure compliance with HSE requirements during all commissioning activities.
Develop and manage system/sub-system commissioning packages, including documentation, punch lists, and test records.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during commissioning and pre-commissioning phases.
Train and support operations personnel during handover and project close-out stages.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
15+ years of experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning within the Oil & Gas industry.
Strong technical background in process systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes (API, ASME, IEC, OSHA).
Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
