Senior Civil Structural Engineer

Job Responsibilities

1. Execute capital projects according to the scope, schedule, and budget.
2. Perform complex technical and administrative tasks relative to the design and coordination of civil & structural packages.
3. Provide technical input and review of the design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup of facilities.
4. Address technical issues arising in all phases of project development related to civil & structural packages of the facilities.
5. Responsible for project development: engineering studies, technical bid reviews, preliminary engineering, detail designs, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning, and startup.
6. Review/provide input to the design of civil/structural packages that fully comply with Saudi Aramco standards and specifications.
7. Manage GES design contractor activities during the development of Pre-FEED & FEED, including definition of project work scope and schedule requirements. Development of detailed estimate leading to funding appropriation and approval.
8. Stay up to date with international procedures of project phases, engineering phases, bidding procedures, procurement processes, construction requirements, and best practices.
9. Have a full understanding of contract documents (inclusive of appendices, drawings, and specifications), project execution plan, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, standards specifications, and project schedule to ensure timely completion of projects.
10. Review and resolve day-to-day contractors' activities related to assigned project work during construction and ensure HSE compliance.
11. Participate in developing civil/structural packages deliverables and others such as plot plans, piping plans, foundation details, load assessments, stress analysis, data sheets, structural details, BRAs, geotechnical & soil tests, etc.
12. Provide design input in identification, sizing, selection, and procurement of civil/structural material.
13. Provide design input to facilities such as pipe racks, substations, PIBs, control buildings, valve stations, process plants of oil, gas, refining, NGL, utilities, etc.
14. Perform change order scope definition, cost estimation, and assist the PM or company representative in the change management process.
15. Review weekly/monthly reports on the status/progress of contracts, including project costs and schedule. Attend project meetings e.g. progress, stakeholders, design review, value improvement.
16. Review project schedule, coordinate/monitor assigned project progress and challenge below par performance of the contractor.
17. Review, coordinate, monitor invoices (claimed vs actual) and contractor's submittals.
