Senior Backend Engineer

Your primary focus will be on developing, testing, releasing, and maintaining our cross-functional platforms backend. Responsibilities include:

1. Developing new features, APIs, and epics
2. Maintaining current backend code base
3. Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code, while adhering to best coding practices
4. Optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring robustness and reliability
5. Troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing systems, and providing timely solutions to any emerging challenges
6. Integrating with databases and messaging brokers and other software components to enhance functionality and performance
7. Actively participating in code reviews, advocating for best practices and high code quality
8. Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in full-stack development, applying them to operations when beneficial
9. Working directly with QA and Product teams to achieve high-quality output

This role is for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to build and nurture a strong engineering culture that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. Ideally, we're looking for someone who has:

1. A strong experience in Golang
2. Experience in system design, design patterns and software architecture
3. Demonstrable skills in SQL/NoSQL databases and database architecture skills
4. Solid experience developing and improving REST APIs
5. Experience with practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD)
6. The ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
7. The ability to work within a self-organized, cross-functional team
8. Work experience with Agile / SCRUM environment
9. Experience in cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud
10. Experience with NestJS; a plus
