Senior AV Technical Lead

Job Summary:

As a Senior AV Technical Lead you will lead the technical operations of the company Pavilion, a state-of-the-art multi-purpose event space. This role requires an expert-level understanding of advanced AV, lighting, and show control systems to ensure seamless execution of high-profile live events. You will be responsible for managing, programming, and troubleshooting sophisticated technologies, including Q-SYS, Disguise, GrandMA, Digico, and Analogway, while collaborating with the events team to deliver world-class experiences.

Job Description:

Technical Operations and Content Management

• Q-SYS: Serve as an expert-level programmer and operator for Q-SYS systems, ensuring optimal audio and video routing, control functionality, and system performance.
• Disguise: Manage and operate Disguise servers for complex video content playback, including programming, troubleshooting, and ensuring pixel-perfect visual delivery.
• GrandMA: Program and operate lighting systems with GrandMA consoles, integrating lighting design into overall event production seamlessly.
• Digico: Oversee the setup, mixing, and troubleshooting of audio systems using Digico consoles for high-quality sound delivery across diverse event formats.
• Analogway: Operate and troubleshoot Analogway systems for video switching and seamless presentation of multi-source content.

Event Management & Support

• Act as the primary technical lead for live events, overseeing all AV, lighting, and show control systems from pre-event setup through post-event teardown.
• Manage speaker slide content and ensure precise transitions during live presentations, collaborating closely with event managers and production teams.
• Implement efficient workflows and document best practices for event operations, ensuring consistency and excellence in event delivery.

Process Improvement and Team Development

• Develop and refine technical procedures, ensuring streamlined event setups and breakdowns to improve operational efficiency.
• Provide technical training and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of expertise and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and evaluate new technologies to enhance the Pavilion’s technical capabilities.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all AV, lighting, and staging operations comply with health, safety, and security standards, with a strong focus on safe handling and operation of technical equipment.
• Monitor and maintain technical systems, ensuring all equipment remains in optimal working condition.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

1. Experience: Minimum 5+ years in live event production with demonstrated expertise in managing advanced AV and lighting systems.
2. Technical Expertise:

• Q-SYS: Advanced programming and operational skills.
• Disguise: Expert-level user with experience in high-stakes event environments.
• GrandMA: Comprehensive knowledge of lighting programming and operation.
• Digico: Proficiency in audio mixing and system setup for live events.
• Analogway: Advanced video switching and content management skills.

Skills: Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and operational skills, with the ability to deliver seamless experiences under tight deadlines.

Desirable

Previous experience in corporate, theatre, or multi-purpose event spaces.

Experience in an operational or multi-purpose event space setting.
