Senior AV programmer

Job Responsibilities:

1. Partner with clients, project managers, and AV engineers to assess project requirements and objectives.
2. Participate in project planning meetings to ensure alignment on technical needs and timelines.
3. Design & Development:
4. Develop custom programming solutions for AV, lighting, and environmental control systems, including user interfaces and automation features.
5. Write and implement programming code using AV system programming languages (e.g., Crestron SIMPL, AMX NetLinx, Extron GlobalScript).
6. Ensure integration with third-party devices, ensuring compatibility and seamless system operation.
7. Integration and Testing:
8. Integrate AV control systems with audio, video, lighting, and other related equipment to deliver intuitive user experiences.
9. Conduct thorough system testing, debugging, and performance checks to validate functionality.
10. Collaborate with AV technicians and engineers to diagnose and resolve technical issues during system integration and testing.
11. Technical Support:
12. Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues as they arise.
13. Install, configure, and update AV equipment and software systems.
14. Maintain detailed documentation of solutions and issue resolutions for future reference.
15. Event Support:
16. Plan and advise on AV-related aspects for live events, operating master control systems as needed.
17. Ensure optimal performance of AV systems during events, troubleshooting in real-time if necessary.
18. System Design and Delivery:
19. Design and deliver AV systems that meet project specifications and conform to industry standards.
20. Interpret project documents such as schematics, shop drawings, and bills of quantities, integrating them into system design and delivery.
21. Conduct site surveys to assess conditions and recommend design modifications as needed.
22. Compile and present detailed system documentation and findings to clients for approval and functional scoping.
23. Installation and Training:
24. Lead the installation, testing, commissioning, and training of AV systems for both project teams and clients.
25. Specialize in the installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced AV setups such as video walls, LED walls, and videoconferencing systems.
26. Develop integration programs for control systems like Crestron, Extron, AMX, Biamp, and Q-Sys.
27. Additional Responsibilities:
28. Design and develop graphical user interfaces (GUI) for control system touch panels.
29. Configure and optimize DSPs (Digital Signal Processors) such as Biamp and QSC for AV systems.
30. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Direct Manager, ensuring continuous improvement and delivery of high-quality AV systems.

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. 8+ years of experience in Crestron system programming, including both SIMPL and SIMPL+.
2. 3+ years of experience configuring and programming DSP systems such as Biamp and QSC.
3. Proven experience with control systems, videoconferencing, switching hardware, and audio DSP setup and calibration.
4. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex audio, video, switching, and control system issues.
5. Familiarity with lighting control systems programming (e.g., DMX, DALI, 0-10V).
6. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, IP addressing, VLANs, and VPN configuration.
7. Expertise in designing and developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for control systems.
