Roles and responsibilities

Technical Skills

  1. Financial Analysis: Expertise in analyzing financial statements, cash flows, and profitability metrics.
  2. Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and managing budgets and financial projections.
  4. Financial Reporting: Preparing reports for internal stakeholders, management, and regulatory compliance.
  5. Taxation: Knowledge of corporate tax laws and compliance requirements.

Analytical Skills

  1. Data Analysis: Proficiency in interpreting large datasets to identify trends and insights.
  2. Risk Assessment: Identifying financial risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  3. Variance Analysis: Comparing actual financial outcomes to budgets and forecasts.
  4. Cost Management: Evaluating and controlling expenses to improve profitability.

Communication Skills

  1. Stakeholder Communication: Presenting financial insights to senior management and non-financial stakeholders.
  2. Report Writing: Creating clear and concise financial documents.
  3. Collaboration: Working closely with teams across finance, operations, and other departments.

Technical Tools

  1. ERP Systems: Experience with systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics for financial processes.
  2. Accounting Software: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools.
  3. Advanced Excel: Expertise in formulas, pivot tables, macros, and financial modeling.
  4. Business Intelligence Tools: Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar for financial visualization.
  5. Tax and Compliance Software: Using tools for tax filing and regulatory reporting.

Organizational Skills

  1. Time Management: Managing multiple deadlines and financial cycles efficiently.
  2. Attention to Detail: Ensuring precision in calculations, reconciliations, and reporting.
  3. Process Improvement: Streamlining financial workflows for better efficiency and accuracy.
  4. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records for audits and compliance.

Desired candidate profile

  • Financial statements: Review the quarterly financial statements for clerical and accounting accuracy
  • Monthly closing process: review the entries made by the team, check the accounting treatment and consistency of the books, monthly schedules, and details
  • IFRS memos: Closely working with the auditors on the IFRS treatment of the new acquisitions and the transactions, gathering facts and preparing necessary paperwork
  • Board Decks: Working on the governance deliverables (AC & BOD deck) as per the requirement of stakeholders and finalizing it for review.
  • Projects: Support various stakeholders as finance partner on several ongoing initiatives and projects like, issuance of sukuk, various corporate presentations, IRLs, Apollo queries, credit rating information requirements etc,
  • IR: Working closely with the IR team on slides, and new data points to showcase business developments.
  • Data sanitization: Work with the operational team to generate dashboards, insights, and key metrics to monitor the performance of each business.
  • Ad hoc matters: Work on the Ad hoc requirements from the group related to covering overall AI involving collecting and reviewing information from subsidiaries
