Job description

Archcorp is searching for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in all phases of architectural design, from concept development to construction documentation. The Senior Architect will lead projects, supervise teams, and play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of Archcorp's design deliverables. A strong understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles and expertise in Revit are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Architectural Projects: Lead the design and execution of architectural projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects adhere to client requirements, budgets, and timelines.
  • Design Excellence: Develop innovative design solutions that meet functional and aesthetic requirements, considering factors such as sustainability, site context, and user experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of architectural principles, building codes, and construction techniques, and apply this knowledge to all project phases.
  • BIM Proficiency: Champion the use of BIM throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to BIM standards, developing and implementing BIM documentation, and automating routines to enhance efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Effectively manage and mentor a team of architects and designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Client Communication: Effectively communicate design concepts and project progress to clients, consultants, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise presentation of ideas.
  • Project Management: Manage project scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring timely delivery of deliverables and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures throughout the design process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Archcorp's high standards.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and address potential design challenges and technical issues, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop effective solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Archcorp's design processes, BIM workflows, and overall project delivery methodologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: A minimum of 15 years of proven experience in the architectural field, with a demonstrable track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant BIM and design software. Demonstrated skill in presentation and graphic design tools such as PowerPoint, InDesign, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards. Expertise in construction documentation, detailing, and specification writing.
  • Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, effectively delegate tasks, and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present design concepts clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical challenges effectively.
  • Time Management and Organization: Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
