Key Responsibilities

1. Developments / Automation in S3D domain for Engineering, integrated with enterprise engineering systems (Hexagon, Aveva & Inhouse).
2. Responsible for liaising with Engineering SMEs to identify requirements for business process improvisation & defining the Requirement Definition Specification.
3. Translating the Requirement Specifications into SmartPlant automation using the best practices defined by Hexagon, Trimble and Petrofac GMS (Global Business Management System).
4. Training end users & rolling out the developments as standard methodology across projects and preparing relevant GMS procedures.
5. Manage the process of change with respect to S3D automation routines & carry out impact analysis prior to implementing the change and supporting end users for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process.
6. Responsible for S3D applications and their interfaces with other applications.
7. Provide clear plans and goal setting in managing the assigned activities.
8. Solve problems and troubleshooting on critical issues on S3D projects.
9. Engage with software vendors & be up to date with latest version of the application from time to time.
10. Interface with Clients & JV partners to manage project delivery.
11. Delivering the IT vision as set by Manager – Engineering Systems Automation.
12. Provides strategic support and input into the overall engineering vision and development plan.

Problem Solving

1. Interacting with other team members, other offices and engineering SMEs regarding Hexagon Smart products & Tekla and interoperability related issues and requirements in terms of new or existing automation.
2. Analyse the cases according to the GMS guidelines, resolve conflicts / issues and guide the design team.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications :

1. Bachelor of Engineering Degree from an accredited College or University and having 10+ years of experience in 3D automation role in a head office environment.
2. Understanding of business processes from FEED to EPC and having worked in the oil and gas industry.
3. Preference will be given to candidates who have business process know how in addition to the expertise with 3D tools.
4. Knowledge of engineering activities in relation to 3D systems.
5. Excellent knowledge of S3D automation, customisation of catalogues, libraries & drawings.
6. Ability to work in a team environment and develop relationships, especially with geographically disbursed teams.
7. Knowledge of S3D data structure, metadata, SQL queries.
8. Comprehensive programming expertise using VB 6 and .NET, S3D APIs to implement automation routines.
9. Must be able to work individually, play active role in the team and develop custom symbols, custom commands, custom labels & reports for S3D.
10. Able to develop logic to integrate S3D with other Hexagon products & legacy systems.
11. Knowledge of Smart Plant Review, Navisworks, Tekla and its meta data.
12. Knowledge of other engineering application such as SmartSketch, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Aveva software (E3D, Diagram, Engineering, AIM).
13. Develop and maintain Corporate Standard Project Setup.
14. Prioritization of business demand & scheduling.
15. Strong problem-solving capability with proactive and logical approach.
