Senior Accountant - Dynamics 365 Business Central

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with deep expertise in Dynamics 365 Business Central. The ideal candidate will be proficient in utilizing the full suite of financial functions within Business Central, including financial planning, reporting, month-end and year-end closures, and ensuring the optimization of all accounting processes within the ERP system. This role requires a strong understanding of how to integrate and leverage Business Central's capabilities to support accurate financial reporting and efficient accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Budgeting:
   • Lead the financial planning process, including developing and maintaining budgets within Dynamics 365 Business Central.
   • Implement and manage financial forecasts, ensuring the financial goals are aligned with business objectives.
   • Monitor budget variances and provide actionable insights to leadership teams, utilizing Business Central for data-driven decision-making.
2. Advanced Financial Reporting:
   • Use Dynamics 365 Business Central to produce complex financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and segment reporting.
   • Ensure the timely and accurate generation of all standard and custom financial reports required by the business.
   • Customize and optimize Business Central's reporting tools to meet evolving financial reporting needs.
   • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and offer recommendations to improve financial performance.
3. Month-End & Year-End Closures:
   • Oversee and drive the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in Business Central.
   • Generate month-end/year-end financial reports and review for accuracy, making necessary adjustments.
   • Lead the reconciliation process, ensuring that all accounts are balanced, and discrepancies are identified and resolved.
   • Coordinate the preparation of audit materials and support both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
4. General Ledger & Account Reconciliation:
   • Oversee the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger in Business Central.
   • Manage and monitor intercompany and consolidated accounting processes.
   • Ensure all accounts are reconciled in a timely manner, utilizing the automation and reconciliation tools within Dynamics 365 Business Central.
5. ERP System Optimization:
   • Leverage advanced features of Dynamics 365 Business Central, such as advanced financial reporting, cash flow management, fixed asset management, and budgeting tools.
   • Implement system improvements and enhancements based on business needs and feedback to increase efficiency and optimize financial processes.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, collaborating with IT or consultants to ensure smooth operation.
6. Compliance & Internal Controls:
   • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements in the use of Business Central.
   • Implement best practices for financial management, reporting, and data integrity within Business Central.
   • Stay current with changes to accounting regulations and ensure Business Central is configured to accommodate new or updated regulations.
7. Training & Support:
   • Provide ongoing training and support to finance team members on advanced functionality and best practices in Business Central.
   • Act as the subject matter expert for all financial processes in Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring that users are maximizing the system's capabilities.
   • Offer guidance and assistance with troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues for the finance team.

Key Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred).
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on ERP systems, particularly Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Proven experience leading or managing financial processes within Business Central, including financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and closing.
• Skills & Competencies:
  • Extensive expertise in using Dynamics 365 Business Central to manage and optimize all financial functions, including reporting, planning, account reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closures.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes in an ERP environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools, utilizing Business Central's built-in features.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements using Business Central.
  • Ability to train, guide, and support team members in effectively utilizing Business Central's advanced features.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, particularly in its financial modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Financial Reporting).
  • Strong understanding of data integration between Business Central and other enterprise systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced functions) to complement reporting needs.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Highly detail-oriented with an analytical mindset and a proactive approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation, upgrades, or optimization projects.
• Familiarity with global accounting standards and multi-currency financial reporting within Business Central.
