Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

1. Supervises, trains, and evaluates accounting professionals and entry-level accounting & support staff.
2. Maintains the integrity of the G/L and Trial Balance and ensures that transactions are accurately booked into the accounting system.
3. Generates various system reports or audits calculations and ensures accuracy, e.g., billing, payroll processing, and accounts payable.
4. Maintains and reconciles all accounts.
5. Plans, manages, coordinates, and implements the month-end and year-end closing processes and procedures for all accounting records.
6. Ensures adherence to IFRS & generally accepted accounting standards and principles; ensures maintenance of proper audit trails and verification and reconciliation actions for all processed work.
7. Coordinates activities with other work departments as needed.

Experience Year/Area:

1. CMA/CPA/ACCA/MBA Finance with 5+ years of UAE experience.
2. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Odoo, Oracle).
3. MS Office (Advanced level in MS Excel).
4. VAT & Corporate Tax experience.
5. Expert in Consolidation & Reconciliation.
6. Knowledge & Experience in the sports sector and hospitality industry are preferable.
7. Supervise a staff comprised of entry-level professionals engaged in carrying out departmental functions.
8. Knowledge of IFRS, generally accepted standard accounting principles, established policies, procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work.
