Job Overview:

Our client seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning within the oil and gas trading sector. This role requires a deep understanding of financial management, risk assessment, and regulatory frameworks specific to the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead financial reporting, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
2. Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and industry-specific accounting standards.
3. Oversee month-end and year-end closing, coordinating with auditors and regulatory bodies.
4. Analyze financial performance, cost structures, and profitability metrics.
5. Support treasury functions, cash flow management, and financial risk assessments.
6. Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
7. Implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
8. Mentor and guide junior accountants, ensuring best practices in financial management.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. CPA, ACCA, or CMA certification preferred.
3. 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in oil and gas trading.
4. Expertise in IFRS, financial analysis, and tax regulations.
5. Strong proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
6. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
