Key Task:
- To deliver lessons that inspire students to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Roles and responsibilities include:
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Good communication at all levels.
- Developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Working alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet the curriculum requirements.
- Liaising with colleagues and working flexibly.
- Engaging with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
- Collaborating with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children’s development.
Specific Duties:
Teaching and Learning:
- Clear understanding of the Curriculum.
- Organizing the classroom provision and learning resources to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Planning, preparing, and presenting sessions that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
- Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
- Observing and assessing children in line with school assessments.
- Reflecting on classroom provision, sessions taught, and progress made, adjusting environment, planning, and curriculum as needed.
- Meeting with professionals, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, if required.
- Embedding the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.
Assessment and Data:
- Taking responsibility for the progress of a class.
- Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of student development using Target Tracker.
- Using data from assessments to influence further planning, provision, and intervention.
- Providing feedback to parents and carers on student progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behavior Management and Duties:
- Following the school’s behavior policy.
- Managing classes effectively, using approaches suitable for students’ needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
- Maintaining good relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary within the school’s behavioral policy.
- Being a positive role model and consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behavior expected of pupils.
- Having high expectations of behavior, promoting self-control and independence among all learners.
- Carrying out duties as directed within the school’s policy.
Wider Professional Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team.
- Supporting the organization and participation in school events, outings, and activities which may occur at weekends or in the evening.
- Communicating effectively with parents/carers about students’ achievements and well-being using school systems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate.
- Making a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
- Running a weekly ECA each term.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Education in Art or equivalent field with PGCE.
Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in teaching Art (Mandatory).
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
- Experience of teaching GCSE and A Level Art.
- Experience of teaching A Level Photography would be an advantage.
- Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language would be an advantage.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
- A high level of professionalism and consideration for the well-being of children.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age, and ethnic background.
