SECONDARY ENGLISH TEACHER NEEDED IN ABU DHABI FOR AN IMMEDIATE START

A private American curriculum school is seeking to appoint dynamic and creative secondary teachers to be part of a close and collaborative team of educators in expansive purpose-built premises. It is a happy school that is ambitious and keen to build on its current strengths, enjoying a wonderful family atmosphere in which many teachers have developed professionally under the strong and supportive guidance of the current headteacher.

It is essential that interested applicants have the relevant teaching qualifications and though American experience is preferred, other backgrounds will be considered. There is an 80% Arabic student population and most students speak English as a second language, so good skills of differentiation and cultural sensitivity are additional essential prerequisites.

Applicants must:

1. have a Bachelor Degree in English and a teaching certificate;
2. have three years of teaching experience;
3. have a commitment to excellence as a classroom teacher;
4. be committed to the principles of 21st Century learning;
5. demonstrate contemporary teaching methods and be competent in integrating technology into the curriculum;
6. have experience with Web 2.0 applications;
7. be able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community;
8. have all required documentation to allow for ADEK approval.
