RAK Academy Khuzam

RAK Academy (Khuzam) provides both primary and secondary British and IB learning pathways from Pre-K to Grade 12 for 1300 international and local students.

The Role

The secondary school is looking for a positive, driven, and inspirational Art Teacher to join a large successful and vibrant Creative Arts department. Art is taught in Grades 6 to 8 to all students. In Grades 9 and 10, Art and Design is offered as an IGCSE subject option. In Grades 11 and 12, Art and Design is offered as a subject option in both the A-Level and International Baccalaureate Diploma pathways.

Essential

1. Bachelor’s degree in Art or a related Art Degree.
2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
3. Have an excellent understanding of teaching and learning.
4. Be highly proficient in the use of technology to support teaching and learning.
5. Engage, motivate, and support students.
6. Be a reflective practitioner with the ability to think creatively and innovate.
7. Be a positive and enthusiastic member of staff and have a growth mindset.
8. Be willing to be fully involved in extra-curricular activities.
9. Have excellent communication skills.
10. Experience of teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level courses (Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply).

Desirable

1. Experience of teaching Art for the IB Diploma.
2. Experience in design and technology is an added advantage.
3. Experience of using Google suite, e.g., Google classroom.
4. Have a proven record of increasing student outcomes.
