Seamstress

Seamstress - Sharjah, UAE (Indian Preferred)

We are looking for a talented Seamstress to join our team in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The successful applicant must have previous experience in the field and be able to demonstrate proficiency in hand and machine stitching techniques.

The ideal candidate should also be comfortable communicating in English. The position is open to male applicants only, and accommodation is not provided. Indian nationality is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities include:

1. Understanding patterns and following instructions for creating clothes
2. Measuring fabric and cutting out pieces according to pattern specifications
3. Sewing pieces together by hand or machine
4. Pressing seams and completing other finishing touches on garments
5. Ensuring quality of finished products meets required standards
6. Making alterations to fit as needed

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a seamstress or similar position
2. Expertise in operating sewing machines and hand tools (e.g. needle and thread)
3. Knowledge of fabrics, their properties, colors, textures etc.
4. Excellent eye for detail and an artistic bent of mind
5. Ability to follow instructions accurately and work with minimal supervision
6. High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a fashion school may be an advantage
