Scrum Master

As a Scrum Master at IC Markets, you will serve as a key facilitator within our Agile teams, ensuring the effective application of Scrum principles and practices. Your primary responsibility will be to lead our development teams through the Scrum framework, enabling them to deliver high-quality software solutions in alignment with our strategic goals. This role requires a proactive leader with a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Agile Facilitation: Lead all Scrum ceremonies for Agile Squads, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and focused.
2. Team Coaching: Provide guidance and coaching to development teams on Agile practices, enabling them to self-organize and maximize productivity.
3. Impediment Removal: Act as the point of escalation for removing obstacles that impede the team’s progress, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
4. Delivery Oversight: Ensure the successful delivery of software increments that meet business objectives, maintaining high standards of quality and timeliness.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the product backlog is prioritized and that the team’s efforts align with business needs.
6. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within teams, encouraging reflection and adaptation of processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Scrum Master, preferably within the financial services or technology sectors.
2. Proven experience leading Agile transformations and guiding teams through the adoption of Agile practices.
3. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
4. An advanced degree (MBA, MS) is a plus.
5. Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent certification is required.
6. Additional certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) are advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

1. Deep understanding of Agile principles and methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean practices.
2. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
3. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on removing impediments and optimizing team performance.
4. Experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.
5. Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and best practices.

Industry Knowledge:

1. Strong understanding of financial markets, trading platforms, and regulatory requirements.
2. Prior experience in a FinTech environment is highly desirable.
3. Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Greek or other languages will be considered an asset.
