The Scriptwriter will be responsible for crafting impactful scripts that resonate with our global audience and align with the organisation's brand messaging. Working closely with the Creative Director, Video Producers, and the Motion Graphics team, this individual will develop scripts for a variety of formats, including promotional videos, product explainers, brand documentaries, and social media content.
Key Responsibilities:
Scriptwriting and Story Development
Develop engaging and on-brand scripts for video content, presentations, and events that align with the organisation's brand voice and values.
Create scripts for various formats, including promotional and corporate videos, product demos, short documentaries, interviews, and social media content.
Work collaboratively to brainstorm ideas and develop storylines that resonate with target audiences, driving brand awareness and engagement.
Narrative Crafting and Tone
Craft narratives that simplify complex ideas and present them in an accessible, engaging, and impactful way.
Tailor scripts to match the tone and style required by each project, ensuring consistency in voice across all platforms and media.
Ensure messaging is clear, concise, and impactful, conveying DP World's core mission and values through every piece of content.
Collaboration and Creative Input
Collaborate with the Creative Director, Video Producers, and the Motion Graphics team to align visuals and messaging for cohesive storytelling.
Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to bring fresh ideas to the table, supporting the team's vision and objectives.
Provide input on storyboards and visual concepts, ensuring alignment with the script and brand objectives.
Research and Content Adaptation
Conduct research to inform scripts, ensuring content accuracy and relevance to target audiences and specific markets.
Adapt scripts for various languages, regions, and cultural contexts, in collaboration with localization teams when required.
Review and revise scripts based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring high quality and alignment with project goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a scriptwriter, screenwriter, or content writer, preferably within an in-house brand team or agency environment.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of video and digital content scripts, with an emphasis on storytelling and brand communication.
Proven ability to create compelling narratives for diverse formats, including corporate videos, product explainers, social media, and short documentaries.
Excellent command of the English language, with outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Strong research skills, with the ability to grasp complex topics and translate them into accessible narratives.
Experience collaborating with creative and production teams, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with video production processes and storyboarding is a plus.
