Science Technician

Aldar Education is seeking a Science Technician for Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing in the academic year 2025-26.

Muna British Academy is relocating to Saadiyat Island. It was recently rated Outstanding by ADEK - Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) currently serving over 700 students from Nursery Year 6. We follow the National Curriculum of England. Next year will see the school grow and open a Year 7 for the first time.

Purpose:

To provide support to students and teaching staff in classrooms and preparation areas under the direction of the Head of Science.

Key duties include:

1. Maintenance, preparation, and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
2. Organisation and maintenance of efficient storage systems for equipment and materials.
3. Prepare and provide equipment for lessons.
4. Preparation of laboratory solutions.
5. Stock control including preparing lists of replacements as required.
6. Assist with completing and collating of the annual order for the Science Department.
7. Assist with Reprographic work as required.
8. To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be determined by the Head of Science / Science Lead.
9. Carry out risk assessment for lab related activities and inform HOD promptly.
10. Abide by health and safety protocols at all times and guide students on rules and processes to follow when handling lab equipment and materials.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Experience: Two years experience in a similar role in an educational setup.

1. Proficient in handling equipment and materials in a science lab.
2. Excellent literacy and communication skills (both written and spoken) as a large part of the role involves communicating with SLT, Heads of Department, students, and parents.
