Job description

Job Title: Salesman

Job Purpose:
As part of the sales team, the primary role of this position is to maximize sales volume, minimize stales, achieve distribution targets, implement agreed merchandising standards, collect accounts receivable, and maintain high levels of customer service. Operating procedures must be followed to ensure continuity of standards across the KSA to support these primary job functions. In addition to these duties, the salesman will provide his supervisor with the latest market information to develop sales opportunities. The salesman is required to attend training courses designed to improve professionalism and customer service and complete a daily debriefing with his supervisor.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Sell the full range of products to an agreed list of customers. Sales will be measured against previously agreed targets.
  2. Maintain stales below the agreed target provided by the supervisor.
  3. Ensure customers receive the service approved by the supervisor.
  4. Maintain daily call frequency and route plans to meet customer satisfaction levels.
  5. Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks as per operating procedures.
  6. Maintain the sales vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition and report defects or damages promptly.
  7. Agree on order requirements for the next selling period daily.
  8. Maintain individual customer stock levels to minimize out-of-stock problems.
  9. Implement agreed in-store merchandising communicated by the supervisor.
  10. Advise the supervisor of relevant competitor activity during daily debriefing.
  11. Reconcile all cheques, cash, and credit sales daily, ensuring zero stock and cash shortages.
  12. Maintain a high standard of grooming and presentation.
  13. Obey driving regulations and maintain driving standards.

Key Performance Indicators:
Daily/weekly sales vs. planned sales, daily positive calls vs. plan, daily call sequence vs. plan, stales vs. target, zero cash & stock shortages.

Qualifications:
Experience and competencies required include customer service skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic, and analytical skills.
