About your role

The Sales Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the sales process, from budgeting through to profit margin management. This role demands a strong analytical mindset, excellent numerical skills, project management, and expertise in CRM (Salesforce) systems. She/he will also be responsible for the go-to-market of new product launches. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the sales team operates efficiently and effectively, contributing directly to the company's profitability.

Your primary responsibilities

Budgeting and Financial Planning:

  1. Develop and manage the annual sales budget in collaboration with the Commercial Director and Head of Finance, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  2. Monitor and analyze sales performance against the budget, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
  3. Collaborate with finance, purchasing, sales, and other departments to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.

Sales Process Optimization:

  1. Streamline sales operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  2. Implement and maintain sales processes and systems to ensure seamless workflow and data integrity.
  3. Develop and enforce best practices for sales operations, including lead management, sales forecasting, and performance tracking.

CRM and Salesforce Management:

  1. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the CRM system, ensuring it meets the needs of the sales team.
  2. Utilize Salesforce to track and analyze sales activities, pipeline, and performance metrics.
  3. Train and support sales team members on CRM and Salesforce usage, ensuring optimal utilization.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:

  1. Generate regular sales performance reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  2. Conduct detailed analysis of sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  3. Present findings and strategic recommendations to drive sales growth and profitability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  1. Work closely with marketing, category managers, finance, procurement, and other departments to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
  2. Facilitate communication and collaboration between sales and other teams to ensure cohesive and coordinated efforts.

Go-to-market of new products:

  1. Oversee the entire go-to-market process.
  2. Coordinate with sales, marketing, and product teams to meet deadlines.
  3. Analyze competition.
  4. Identify risks and problems.
  5. Understand and leverage market trends.

What you need to excel

  1. Strong aptitude for numbers and financial analysis.
  2. In-depth knowledge of CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, with hands-on experience in implementation and management.
  3. Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
  4. Capable of developing and executing strategies to optimize sales performance and profitability.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data and recommendations clearly and persuasively.
  6. Understanding of the sales process, market dynamics, customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends.
  7. Possesses a strong personality with the ability to lead teams effectively, make decisive decisions, and navigate complex situations with confidence and authority.
  8. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Sales, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  9. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales operations, financial planning, or a related role.
  10. Proficiency in financial analysis tools is good to have but not necessary.
  11. Experience in a similar industry is an added advantage.
