Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and high-performing Sales Manager to lead business development efforts for our freight forwarding operations in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have a robust client portfolio, deep industry knowledge, and a relentless drive to meet and exceed sales targets. This role requires strategic thinking, strong client management skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver tailored logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the freight forwarding and logistics sector.
  • Leverage existing client relationships to generate immediate and long-term revenue.
  • Develop customized sales strategies to target key accounts and expand market share.
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial terms for both the client and the company.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build brand awareness and client connections.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to assess needs, address concerns, and propose value-added services.
  • Provide clients with insights into market trends, shipping routes, and optimal logistics solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, pricing, and customer service) to ensure flawless service delivery and timely resolution of issues.

Market Analysis & Strategy:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitor strategies, and new business opportunities.
  • Analyze customer data, sales performance, and industry metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new service offerings or geographic expansions.

Performance Management & Reporting:

  • Establish and track KPIs, sales targets, and performance benchmarks.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and deal progress using CRM tools.
  • Prepare and present detailed sales reports, market analyses, and revenue forecasts to senior leadership.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of sales experience in freight forwarding or logistics, with proven success in client acquisition and revenue generation.
  • Client Portfolio: Must have an active client book or well-established industry connections.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of freight forwarding services, including air, sea, land, and multimodal transport.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, strategic planning, and relationship management skills.
  • Technology: Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office, and industry-specific platforms.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel regionally as required to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
