Position Overview

As a Key Account Manager, Distribution is responsible for developing and growing the distributor business within the defined country/region in accordance with Hempel's latest strategy for distribution management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop relationships with defined distribution partners to act as an extension of the Hempel sales team, driving in target segments and leadership positions.
  2. Partner cross-functionally to enable effective management of distribution activities and ensure clear standards, processes, and agreements are in place to ensure efficient operations.
  3. Support the defined channel strategy, ensuring we are balancing and growing sales via both direct and indirect channels and enhancing penetration to the market.
  4. Achieve sales budgets by implementing established sales strategy for assigned geography/segment in alignment with the Sales Manager.
  5. Implement Hempel's latest distributor strategy and structured distributor pricing setup in accordance with the Revenue Management team.
  6. Ensure clear standards and processes are implemented in relation to stock holding, replenishment, and order management to maximize efficiency.
  7. Follow commercial excellence and pipeline management processes for distributor opportunities.
  8. Play an active role in promoting new product launches to distributors and support product management initiatives to reduce product and range complexity when needed.
  9. Proactively collaborate with services team to ensure customers are fully supported technically.
  10. Work closely with finance/credit control functions to ensure that receivables targets are achieved.
  11. Provide data for sales forecast of distributor business annually/quarterly/monthly.

Location

This role will be based in Sharjah (UAE) and reports into Sales Manager Infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Sales experience in similar tasks or commercial experience in an aligned role such as marketing or technical support.
  2. Appropriate education to illustrate ability to focus and achieve results.
  3. Experience, demeanor, and behavior are the most crucial requirements and will always be considered over educational background.
  4. Ability to communicate optimally at all levels and use social skills to establish relationships with customers at multiple levels.
  5. Ability to develop long-lasting relationships to drive customer loyalty in a very competitive market environment.
  6. Ability to drive and champion change in a complex environment.
  7. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system experience.
