Job description

This position is responsible for generating sales leads and securing orders to achieve the assigned sales targets across the designated business activities and industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sales Lead Generation: Responsible for generating sales leads and meeting the assigned sales target for a given period from existing and potential clients. Develop sales and selling strategies that align with the company’s overall strategy and ethical code of conduct.
  • Cold Calling and Relationship Building: Regularly make cold calls, visit, and establish new business relationships while maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Sales Inquiries and Proposals: Receive sales inquiries, conduct site visits (if required), prepare proposals, negotiate terms, and finalize sales proposals after obtaining manager approval.
  • Sales Contract Preparation: Prepare sales contracts and ensure timely approval signatures are obtained before raising the Service Report Form (SRF) for project execution by the Operations team.
  • Contract Renewal: Track and renew sales contracts in advance to prevent service disruptions and ensure continuity of client service.
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain long-lasting relationships with clients by providing consistent support, sharing relevant information, offering guidance, researching, and recommending waste management solutions and service improvements.
  • Liaison with Authorities: Liaise with governmental and other relevant authorities to secure necessary approvals, permits, and documents related to sales and services.
  • Project Issues and Complaints Resolution: Track, manage, and resolve project-related issues and complaints, escalating them when necessary to the appropriate team or manager.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Support Invoicing, Credit Control, and Operations teams by assisting with documentation, payment issues, or any bottlenecks that may arise in the process.
  • Market and Competitor Analysis: Monitor market conditions and competitor activities, and provide regular feedback to the manager for adjustments in sales strategies.
  • Professional Development: Maintain up-to-date professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, training sessions, e-learning programs, reviewing industry publications, and benchmarking best practices in the field.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly and/or other required Management Information System (MIS) reports as assigned by the reporting manager.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, company policies and procedures, UAE laws, and relevant regulations.
  • Ethical Reporting: Work ethically, report any violations or actions that may compromise health, safety, the environment, ethics, or the company’s reputation.
  • Other Tasks: Perform any other tasks as assigned by the company, based on evolving business needs.

Desired Candidate Profile

Job Specifications

a) Education:
Graduation or higher, preferably in Sales, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited university.

b) Professional Certification:
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) or waste management-related certification preferred. A valid UAE driving license for light vehicles is mandatory.

c) Specialized Knowledge:
Preferably in the waste management industry, with a solid understanding of industry-specific processes, solutions, and regulatory compliance.

d) Skills:

  • Strong selling, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Ability to develop sales strategies and adapt to evolving market needs.

e) Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Email, and Internet applications. Ability to manage and track sales activities using CRM tools is a plus.

f) Other Characteristics:

  • Should be a team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Honest, self-confident, disciplined, highly organized, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and ethical conduct.

g) Experience:
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in sales, with a minimum of 1 year in the waste management industry preferred. Proven track record in achieving sales targets and developing client relationships.

Working Conditions

  • Independence and Travel:
    The role requires the ability to work independently with extensive travel requirements.
  • Time Spent in UAE:
    Approximately 70% of the time will be spent in the UAE, visiting clients and their sites. Regular attendance at external meetings and delivering sales presentations is expected.
  • Working Hours:
    Standard working hours apply, though the employee may be required to work extended hours depending on business needs or project deadlines.
  • Work Environment:
    The position may expose the employee to unpleasant sights, smells, and hazardous conditions such as dangerous or toxic substances. The employee must take necessary precautions to protect their eyes, skin, and respiratory system from potential harm or irritation.

  • Physical Inspections:
    There may be a requirement to physically inspect waste as part of site visits or project assessments.

    The employee must be in good health, physically fit, and have good vision to perform required duties effectively.
