Safety Specialist, dnata

Job Purpose

As a Safety Specialist, you will provide technical expertise and direction to dnata businesses on all matters related to Occupational Health and Safety, to support in reducing risks, execute safe operations and coach on safety performance improvement. This is a full-time role and will be based in our Dubai office. The role will involve frequent business travel to our global stations.

In This Position Role, You Will

1. Be responsible for a dynamic portfolio of projects across dnata Airport, Cargo, Catering and Travel Operations from inception to successful implementation and adoption.
2. Manage internal and external stakeholders including customers and vendors.
3. Support in the development of safety performance objectives and targets and develop with businesses safety improvement plans to meet dnata SMS targets.
4. Lead the business in the implementation of Safe Place + Safe Person observation programs.
5. Plan and support significant incident investigations in line with the dnata investigation processes to determine root cause and corrective actions.
6. Develop safety campaigns based on safety performance analyses and emerging trends.
7. Facilitate the development of intervention plans for underperforming businesses to realign with dnata SMS requirements and performance targets.
8. Lead safety initiatives and conduct assurance, coaching, and training to continuously improve business safety standards.
9. Facilitate the implementation of dnata safety and standards and monitor the effectiveness within businesses.
10. Able to support with the implementation and management of dnata safety programs in dynamic, complex and multi-site environments.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

1. Tertiary qualifications in training / safety or related field.
2. Qualifications from a recognized international institute or association.
3. 8-10 years of experience in safety including at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
4. Ability to travel 50% - 60% of the time to various global locations to support safety operations across our network.
5. Advanced knowledge with safety related requirements in interpreting OHS regulations, and safety codes.
6. Advanced knowledge of observation programs and behavioural based safety.
7. Advanced communication skills. High proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is essential for clear communication across our global network.
8. Advanced computer and IT literacy, data collection and analyses skills.
9. Advanced presentation, facilitation and professional writing skills.
