Safety Officer - High Rise and Villa projects

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Safety Officer / Engineer for our High rise and Villa Projects team in Dubai.

To manage Safety for construction project of large-scale building construction including high rise, towers and low rise villas, master developments projects and to lead the safety/ HSE aspect throughout all construction stages of the project.

Educational Qualification: Diploma in Safety and Diploma/B.E. in Civil

Job Summary:

The Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Executive will oversee and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. He will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, identify and mitigate potential hazards, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

1. Responsibilities:

1. Policy Development and Implementation:
   • Develop, review, and update health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
   • Implement policies across all construction sites, ensuring adherence by all personnel.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
   • Stay abreast of local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to the civil construction industry.
   • Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
   • Conduct regular risk assessments of construction sites and activities to identify potential hazards.
   • Develop and implement measures to mitigate risks and hazards, including the provision of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety training.
4. Training and Education:
   • Organize and conduct health, safety, and environmental training sessions for construction personnel.
   • Promote awareness of safety and environmental issues through toolbox talks, seminars, and other communication channels.
5. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
   • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
   • Maintain accurate records of all incidents and produce timely reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.
6. Environmental Management:
   • Develop and implement environmental management plans for construction projects, including waste management, pollution prevention, and conservation measures.
   • Monitor environmental performance and compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
7. Emergency Preparedness:
   • Develop and implement emergency response plans for construction sites, including procedures for evacuation, first aid, and incident management.
   • Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree/ diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science
• Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
• Proven experience in health, safety, and environmental management within the high rise and villa construction projects in UAE
• Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001).

Working Conditions:

• The role will require regular travel to construction sites, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions and physical hazards.
• The HSE safety officer will need to work irregular hours to accommodate the needs of construction projects and emergencies.
