Safety Officer-Construction

• Promoting safety achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
• Develop, implement and maintain EHS plan to bring the Company’s Safety Systems and Policies into compliance with system requirements.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
• Practice safe working techniques.
• Implement and maintain health and safety standards.
• Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques.
• Standardize health and safety in order to remain consistent.
• Identify hazardous waste and dispose of it correctly in the workshop.
• Prepare Risk assessments and SMOW (Safe Method of Work).
• Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
• Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance.
• Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for management.
• Regularly inspect equipment and PPE.
• Regularly inspect the work and activities.
• Prepare and conduct Safety bulletins/toolbox talks.
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and apply preventive measures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or NEBOSH Diploma.
• 3 years prior experience in EHS department.
• Registration as a Health and Safety Officer.
• Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of quality & EHS standards.
• Experience in EHS system audits.
• Demonstrates a passion and a responsibility for consumer safety.
