Safety Officer

Job Responsibilities:

1. Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
2. Identify potential hazards and implement measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
3. Perform regular safety inspections of the construction site.
4. Evaluate work processes and equipment to identify potential safety risks and ensure all risks are minimized.
5. Develop and enforce safety policies and programs tailored to the construction site.
6. Ensure all workers are trained and aware of safety protocols, procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
7. Promote a proactive safety culture by conducting regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
8. Investigate incidents, accidents, or near misses, and implement corrective actions.
9. Ensure the construction site meets local, state, and national safety regulations, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) or equivalent.
10. Maintain records of safety audits, incident reports, and inspection results.
11. Create and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation, fire safety, and first aid.
12. Coordinate emergency drills and ensure workers are familiar with emergency procedures.
13. Prepare and submit detailed safety reports to management, documenting all safety inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions taken.
14. Recommend improvements to enhance site safety.
15. Ensure all workers are properly equipped with personal protective equipment.
16. Inspect tools, machinery, and equipment regularly to ensure safety standards are met.
17. Lead by example and encourage workers to follow safety guidelines.
18. Engage with site supervisors and workers to foster a culture of safety awareness and responsibility.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
2. Certification in occupational safety (e.g.: NEBOSH, IOSH).
3. Experience in construction safety, risk assessment, and accident investigation.
4. Strong communication and leadership skills.
5. Ability to conduct safety training and promote a safety culture.

Experience: 7 - 10 years Gulf Experience
