Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement a risk-based internal audit plan aligned with the company's objectives, risks, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify key audit areas, prioritize audit engagements, and allocate resources effectively to ensure comprehensive coverage of high-risk areas.
- Internal Audit Execution:
- Conduct internal audit reviews and assessments of the company's operations, processes, and controls to evaluate their effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Perform financial, operational, and compliance audits, as well as special investigations and ad-hoc reviews as directed by senior management or the board.
- Risk Management and Control Evaluation:
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance structures to identify gaps, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
- Evaluate control deficiencies, root causes, and associated risks, and recommend corrective actions and mitigation measures to address identified issues.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Monitor regulatory developments, industry standards, and best practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
- Coordinate with legal, compliance, and other relevant departments to address compliance issues and implement remedial actions as necessary.
- Audit Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present audit findings, observations, and recommendations to senior management, the audit committee, and the board of directors.
- Communicate audit results clearly and concisely, highlighting areas of concern, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement, and facilitate discussions on remediation plans and corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and external auditors, to foster collaboration and support the audit function's objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management, providing insights and guidance on internal control matters, risk management practices, and process improvements.
- Monitor audit performance, adherence to professional standards, and compliance with audit methodologies, and implement enhancements as needed to drive continuous improvement.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Professional certificates such as CA/ACCA/CPA and preferred additional certificates such as CIA/CISA
- Knowledge of local regulations and industry practices in GCC region
- Experience in IT or Fintech industry is a must.
- Strong understanding of internal audit methodologies, frameworks risk assessment techniques, and control frameworks
- Highly proficient with MS Excel and knowledge of ERP systems
- Experience of working in different geographies would be an advantage
