Job description

Oversees the daily operations of a retail store and is responsible for overseeing the daily work of subordinate employees ensuring that customers have a pleasant shopping experience.

Responsible for developing and managing a showroom operation that increases sales, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction by directing, coordinating, and monitoring all sales and branch operations.

Ensure optimal sales through maintaining appropriate inventory, maximizing store appearance, efficiency of sales floor operations, and providing exceptional customer service by maintaining a positive and productive environment in the branch.

Responsible for achieving overall branch targets by minimizing branch expenses, directing, and controlling overall branch activities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Achieve financial, sales, and budget targets by controlling expenditures, analyzing variance, and reducing the expense utilities budget and thus initiating corrective actions.
  • Establish objectives and plans for continual improvement of branch performance.
  • Control the inventory, movement of stock, spoilage, damaged items, return, and dead stock.
  • Ensure branch preventive maintenance is scheduled and performed periodically.
  • Liaise with HR, IT, Trading, Administration, and other departments to ensure availability of resources.
  • Manage store inventory effectively and must have good analytical skills in inventory turnover for the goods available at the back store to ensure that merchandise is quickly converted into sales and to minimize stock variation.
  • Handle customer complaints for the branch and the related remedial and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate staff performance and ensure learning and growth at all levels are provided and monitored based on job performance.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business.
  • 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience in retail.
  • Knowledge of manpower planning, merchandising, and display.
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.
