Role Purpose:
The Business Development Analyst is responsible for analyzing business operations, market trends, and customer data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth within the BFL group. This role will act as a key advisor to leadership by providing insights, forecasting trends, and making data-driven recommendations that support strategic decision-making and enhance overall business performance.
Through rigorous data analysis, effective communication, and strategic planning, the Strategy Analyst will contribute to the organization's operational efficiency, competitiveness, and long-term growth in the dynamic retail environment.
Key responsibilities:
Market and Competitor Analysis
- Conduct research on market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitors to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Translate findings into actionable strategies that drive business growth and strengthen competitive positioning.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze operational, financial, and customer data to provide insights that support decision-making.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track KPIs and measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
Strategic Planning Support
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of long-term strategic plans.
- Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to optimize performance and enhance efficiency.
Operational Improvement
- Partner with business units to assess workflows and processes, identifying opportunities for innovation and cost savings.
- Support the design and implementation of new tools or technologies to improve operations.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams to align strategic initiatives across the organization.
- Facilitate workshops, presentations, and discussions to ensure shared understanding of key strategies and objectives.
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, strategy development, or consulting within the retail sector.
- Proven ability to conduct in-depth research, analyze data, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Experience with analytical and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, or Tableau) and strategic frameworks.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to derive insights from complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey findings to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proactive and detail-oriented with a focus on delivering measurable business results.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
- Proven experience working with Google BigQuery for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with ERP systems, CRM platforms, or other business tools is a plus.
- Experience in writing advanced SQL queries, including window functions, joins, and subqueries.

- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven leadership capabilities to influence teams without direct authority.
